The encyclopedia (wiki) called "Medieval Nordic literature in Latin" encompasses a range of texts written in Latin by authors from or connected to the Nordic region during the Middle Ages, roughly spanning from 1100 to 1530. This literature includes religious texts, historical chronicles, legal documents, and works of philosophy and science, among others. It reflects the region's integration into European intellectual and cultural life during this period, with Latin serving as the language of scholarship and administration.
The wiki is being updated in 2025 by the CODICUM project.
The new survey, conducted by CODICUM in 2025, has expanded the known Nordic fragment collections from 42 to nearly 120 institutions.
An overview will be openly shared soon.
